Backpacks for the Homeless
The homeless backpack ministry is a means for this congregation to provide support to the homeless in our communities. Backpacks are filled with personal care items, clothing, stamps, a Bible, and a message of encouragement to accept the healing love of Jesus Christ. Additionally, people from the church are encouraged to take one or more backpacks and give them out to the homeless people they encounter. It is hoped that in addition to meeting some physical needs we can provide emotional and spiritual support to the homeless in reminding them that they are not alone or forgotten. Items for this ministry are donated by the members of the church and may be left in a box placed in the rear of the sanctuary. These items include...backpacks, socks, pens, writing paper, envelopes, stamps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, washcloths, feminine hygiene products, hard candy, bandaids, knit hats in winter, baseball caps in summer, gloves, adult t-shirts, sweatshirts, small blankets, lotion, and Bibles. You can download this supply list to help you remember when you are shopping. | Back to the Top |

In-Service Ministry
Service is made successful by several different teams of people:
- The greeters make sure each person feels welcome member, friend, and visitor alike.
- Another team is responsible for setting up the altar.
- The Communion Team is made up of celebrators, acolytes, and servers.
- Other people are willing to read scripture and share with us words of inspiration during the offering or candle of hope.
We are always in need of people who will use their gifts and talents to serve in our worship service. We believe in the Priesthood of all believers and therefore encourage people to get involved.
