What's Happened Lately?

Annual Congregational Meeting

Members and friends of Valley Ministries MCC joined together on January 29th after church service for our Annual Valley Ministries Congregational Meeting. We reviewed the Year End Reports for Ministry and the Board, voted on the proposed Budget, and voted on anyone up for nomination to the Board of Directors. All were welcome to attend, but only those who are Members were allowed to vote. This meeting took the place of the regular monthly Board meeting. Congratulations to Ken for being elected to be the newest member of the Board of Directors. And a special thanks to Nancy for her four years of faithful work toward making Valley Ministries MCC such a special place to worship.

Valley/Bay Area Network Gathering

Valley Ministries MCC and the rest of the Valley/Bay Area Network joined together on January 27th and 28th for dynamic worship, enlightening workshops, thoughtful discussions and, of course, a time of networking with each other! It was a fun and exciting time, and we were happy to see so many attend. Thank you to our Network Co-Leads Sharon and Brandon for putting together such an awesome event, and thank you to the Pacific School of Religion for being such great hosts.

Budget Raps

Valley Ministries hosted a series of Budget Raps on January 15th and January 22nd. Both sessions took place at church after service. All attendees of Valley Ministries were encouraged to attend, especially those who are Members. These were important events for those who care about the church and helping it grow, and we thank all those who attended and gave your input for the coming year. The Board of Directors and the Financial Team were be on hand to answer any questions. The final budget will be voted upon at the Congregational Meeting.

A Night Out

Valley Ministries was proud to support the benefit A Night Out, which took place at the State Theatre on October 21st. The vision for this benefit is to raise awareness for our LGBT community, and to raise money for the teen program called "The Place," which opens it's doors to local teens and provides a safe place where they can seek help and reassurance about their sexuality. The event featured performances by stand-up comics and a variety of musical acts.

Valley Ministries Picnic

The Valley Ministries family joined together to have a special picnic this summer, hosted by the CARE Groups. We gathered at Oak Park on East Alpine in Stockton. The picnic took place on Sunday Aug 14th. Along with food, fellowship, and fun, we will also talked about CARE groups and their role in Valley Ministries.
